Profile

The Wessex Deanery is responsible for the management and delivery of Postgraduate Medical & Dental education across the South Central and South West Regions. The Wessex Deanery is the only Deanery in the UK that spans two Strategic Health Authorities: South Central Strategic Health Authority and South West Strategic Health Authority. The Deanery has specialty trainees in all of the Hospital, and Mental Health Care Trusts in the region including the Isle of Wight. Not only does the Wessex area have fabulous beaches and the New Forest, but you’ll find that London is within easy reach, while nearby airports and ferries add to your travel options.

Recruitment timetables 2012

National timetables will be run for all CT/ST 1 posts in round one.
All CT/ST2+ posts will be advertised in Round 2 of recruitment in line with agreed MMC timetables, available from www.mmc.nhs.uk

Academic Posts will be advertised in line with national timetables for both local interviews and national pilot schemes.

MMC Recruitment responsibilities

In Round 1 Wessex Deanery will have posts in the following specialties: ACCS, Anaesthesia, Clinical Radiology, Core Medical Training, Core Psychiatry Training, Core Surgical Training, General Practice, Histopathology, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Paediatrics and Public Health. Wessex Deanery will be co-ordinating national recruitment for Cardiothoracic Surgery ST3 and Paediatric Cardiology ST4 in Round 2.
