Profile

The East of England Multi-Professional Deanery, within the Workforce Directorate at NHS East of England is the regional centre of excellence for the development, commissioning, and quality management of education and training of all healthcare staff. The Postgraduate Medical and Dental Education (PGMDE) team reflect this through our vision of "First class education for first class healthcare". We aim to inspire excellence in all our trainees, trainers and other stakeholders by engaging and involving them at all stages in the planning and delivery and quality management of education and training to ensure our patients receive the highest standard of safe clinical care. It encourages a multi-professional approach to the delivery of training and patient care, and aims to provide comprehensive support and encouragement to providers, trainers and trainees. There are around 4,000 medical and dental trainees in the region serving a population of 5.6 million. This large geographic area covers both rural and urban areas bordering London, and we commission healthcare education and training from over 50 providers. MMC Recruitment timetables for 2012

NIHR and local academic recruitment will open on 17 October - www.nihrtcc.nhs.uk Recruitment for all specialties will open from 14 November 2011. Please refer to our website for further information on individual specialty opening and closing dates: http://www.eoedeanery.nhs.uk/medical/  Recruitment to ST3 specialties will commence from February/March 2012

MMC Recruitment responsibilities

The East of England Multi-Professional Deanery is locally managing recruitment for: Emergency Medicine CT3
The following specialties will be recruited through a national process managed by a lead deanery not governed by the East of England Multi-Professional Deanery: Histopathology, Clinical Radiology, Neurosurgery, Public Health, Ophthalmology and ACCS - Emergency Medicine. All other specialties will be recruited to through a national process, with local management by the East of England Multi-Professional Deanery. We will be recruiting to Academic Clinical Fellows in most specialties, please refer to our website for further information.
