Locum Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist for Children and Young People with Disability

Fixed term for 6 months

The Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust consists of the Tavistock Clinic and the Portman Clinic and gained Foundation Trust status in November 2006. It provides multi-disciplinary clinical mental health services for adults, adolescents and children and their families, and postgraduate training for a wide range of caregivers in the field of mental health.

The postholder will be employed by the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust where they will be a member of a substantial consultant psychiatry discipline in the Child and Family and Adolescent Directorates. The post is in a dynamic and developing local service for children and young people with disabilities. The CAMHS team is a specialist multidisciplinary team with responsibility for meeting the mental health needs of children and young people up to the age of 18 years, who have mental health difficulties where disability is a primary factor in the presenting problem. It is part of a multi agency service for disabled children managed by the Local Authority, with joint accountability to Camden Children Schools and Families Directorate and Camden PCT.
