Location of vacancies
The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) is coordinating the recruitment process for all posts for England and Wales.
Profile
The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health is one of the Medical Royal Colleges - the oldest of which was founded in 1505. Like the other colleges, we have a major role in postgraduate medical education and professional standards: setting syllabuses for postgraduate training in paediatrics, overseeing the training, running examinations, organising courses and conferences, issuing guidance and conducting research.
We are one of the newest Colleges, having been founded in 1996. We trace our origins back, however, to the British Paediatric Association, founded in 1928, which acted as a focus for professional activity in the field of paediatrics prior to the formation of the College.
Objectives: Re-educate and examine those concerned with the health of children, advance the art and science of paediatrics, raise the standard of medical care to children, advance the education of the public in child health.
Most of this work is carried out in the UK, but we have a small but important programme of work overseas supported in part by the David Baum International Foundation.
The College currently has about 10,500 members worldwide, the majority of whom are based in the UK and Ireland.
