Profile
The main functions of the KSS Deanery are the recruitment of postgraduate
doctors in training, the commissioning and allocation of workplace
based training opportunities, the quality management of the
training provided and the assessment, support and remediation of its
2,978 Foundation and Specialty Training doctors.
Recruitment is managed locally, through national (Medical Royal
College) processes and in collaboration with the London Deanery
across various specialties. Further, detailed and guidance information is
available at http://cssag.kssdeanery.org/Recruitment-Recruitment.php
The quality management of these activities is undertaken through our
established Specialty Schools who work with each Trust’s Local Faculty
Group and Local Academic Board ensuring the highest possible
quality of education and training for our trainees. In addition, the
Deanery supports these quality management structures through the
development of the faculty of educators and careers advice services.

More information
KSS Deanery has worked closely with its trainees, trainers and key
trust administrators to ensure that each stakeholder has the information
and guidance that they need during this period. Part of
these preparations included the development of an interactive
website and recruitment handbook which are available at
http://cssag.kssdeanery.org/Recruitment-Recruitment.php and the
delivery of a number of ‘trainee presentations and events’ around
the patch.
