Clinical Associate Professor in Gastroenterology or Hepatology

Salary: £75,249 to £101,451 per annum depending on seniority

The University of Nottingham invites applications for the above full-time post in luminal Gastroenterology or Hepatology. The postholder will have a major research commitment as well as clinical service and teaching responsibilities compatible with an academic role.

Gastroenterology and Hepatology in Nottingham have a wide range of research opportunities and our aim is to appoint the strongest candidate regardless of precise research interests. However candidates with an interest in translational medicine relevant to the NIHR funded Nottingham Digestive Disease Biomedical Research Unit would be especially welcomed, as would those with an interest in clinical trials. The post comes with 3 years start up support including a PhD studentship, laboratory consumables and support from a nominated research nurse.

The successful candidate will have a higher degree (PhD/MD or equivalent) and MRCP (or equivalent) with an outstanding track record of achievement, with research interests that will complement and strengthen existing research programmes in Nottingham. Candidates must be registered with the GMC Specialist Register or eligible for entry within six months of receipt of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at the time of interview. All candidates will need to hold full GMC registration with a license to practice at the time of appointment.

This full-time post will be offered on a permanent basis.
