This post is available from August 2014, initially for a period of 12 months and is based at the Western Infirmary, Glasgow. The fellowship provides a full-time salary with exposure to all aspects of access and research according to the applicants’ requirements. There is no on-call supplement. Previous surgical training to ST5 is essential and MRCS is essential. The Renal Transplant Service provides surgical transplantation services for the West of Scotland and access surgery for the renal population of Greater Glasgow, Clyde and Forth Valley. The fellowship is generously funded by The Darlinda Foundation. 'Darlinda's charity for Renal Research was founded by the late Rita Madhok in 1987; Rita was a renal patient for many years and was also known professionally as Darlinda through her work as an astrologer. Sadly Rita died but the charity continues to raise money to support renal research and improve patient comfort. 2 Posts available from August 2014 for 6 months in first instance based at the Western Infirmary, Glasgow. The Directorate provides Renal Services for Greater Glasgow & Clyde and Forth Valley Health Boards and Renal Transplant Services for the West of Scotland. Inpatient services are located at the Western Infirmary. The post will offer excellent training and experience in renal transplant surgery and nephrology.
