Gibraltar, a British dependency on the southernmost tip of the Iberian Peninsula is rich in heritage and culture. Gibraltar’s Health Service is organised and modelled on UK NHS and follows traditions of British medical practice.
An opportunity has arisen for appointment as General Practitioner in Gibraltar. Candidates must be certified with the JCPTGP or equivalent and the European Certificate of Specialist Training in GMP or equivalent. MRCGP membership would be desirable.
The Primary Care Centre is located at the top end of Main Street. It houses 17 full-time and one part-time GP along with 3 Nurse Practitioners and other ancillary medical staff. Primary health care is provided to the 30,000 population of Gibraltar on the basis of pre-booked appointments. Acute appointments are also available to deal with any emergent cases on the day. There is an IT based appointments system and prescribing programme. Primary Care enjoys a close link with St Bernard’s Hospital which provides Secondary Care in Gibraltar as well as investigative services.
The appointment will be for an initial period of three years. Salary, dependant on experience ranges from £87,471 to £104,914 per annum.
