Cardiology - Clinical Research Associate x3

The appointments will be full time on UCL Grade CL7. The salary range will be £34,163 - £35,714 per annum depending on skills and experience, inclusive of London Allowance.

A clinical basic research programme has been developed at the Hatter Cardiovascular Institute, University College London. The programme is designed for clinically qualified individuals who wish to undertake a period of basic and/or clinical cardiovascular research prior to continuation of clinical training. This programme is from October 2014. The main research interests of the Hatter Cardiovascular Institute relate to myocardial protection, myocardial ischaemia and reperfusion injury and myocardial adaptation to ischaemia in both the basic and clinical arena.

There are 3 cardiology positions funded for 2 or 3 years. Successful candidates who enrol for an MD (Res) will be funded for 2 years, and those doing a PhD will be funded for 3 years.

Applicants should hold MBBS (or equivalent) and Membership of the Royal College of Physicians or Surgeons. Basic laboratory skills are also essential as is a commitment to high quality research.

The programme includes a 1:6 on call rotation with The Wellington Hospital.
