Clinical Investigator Scientist
MRC Cancer Unit • Salary: £31,301-£54,199
The MRC Cancer Unit is seeking to recruit a Clinical Investigator Scientist to join the laboratory of Professor Rebecca Fitzgerald at the Hutchison/MRC Research Centre in Cambridge.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with outstanding potential for a continuing career in academic medicine. Working within an established translational research programme headed by Professor Rebecca Fitzgerald, the successful candidate will undertake research within an overall programme on “Oesophageal Carcinogenesis” with a goal to better understand the molecular pathogenesis of the disease and hence to improve patient management. Applicants should be medically qualified, have full GMC registration and previous research experience, including peer reviewed publications and evidence of their suitability for a successful career in academic medicine. Significant experience in performing advanced upper GI endoscopy, including advanced endoscopic imaging techniques, or in molecular pathology research would be advantageous.
The position is available from 1 October 2014 until 31 December 2017 with the possibility of extension.
This appointment requires an Honorary Clinical Contract and a security check.
