PORTSMOUTH HOSPITALS NHS TRUST - Department: Trauma and Orthopaedics
FELLOWSHIPS IN ORTHOPAEDICS – FOOT AND ANKLE
Applications are invited for the posts of Foot and Ankle Fellows commencing August 2014 and August 2015, each for 12 months. These posts have arisen within one of the UK’s leading Orthopaedic Centres with a reputation for providing a high quality foot and ankle service.
These posts are required to continue to support this demanding and expanding service, meeting increasing patient needs and supporting the existing team of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
The successful applicants will gain closely supervised exposure to all aspects of foot and ankle surgery. A structured timetable of activities will provide exposure to the treatment of deformity, degenerative and traumatic foot and ankle conditions under the supervision of four Consultant Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
The unit benefits from excellent musculoskeletal radiology services. The successful applicants will be given active support with basic science and clinical research and will be expected to present and publish work done.
These posts do not attract an NTN and do not lead to the award of CCST but are aimed at year 5/6 Orthopaedic Specialist Registrars who want to specialise in Foot and Ankle Surgery.
FRCS (Tr. and Orth.) or equivalent is essential. These posts will have SAC approval for training (subject to personal circumstances). Salary will be on the appropriate point of the Specialist Registrar salary scale (£30,002 to £47,175 per annum).
