Help us to help people with arthritis

We are a UK charity dedicated to the continuing development of a  programme which includes all aspects of lifestyle relevant to the  self-management of arthritis. Our programme is available as an  addition to any medical treatment, and helps people to manage their arthritis and to live a more active life with less pain.

We now wish to appoint a Medical Adviser who will help us to ensure that our programme is widely recognised as a useful part of an overall approach to the management and treatment of arthritis. Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Medical Adviser will be an integral part of a new Management Team which is being set up in London to reposition the charity as an organisation which promotes the importance of  following an active self-help programme for people with arthritis. A forthcoming re-branding exercise will also emphasise our desire to  promote improved lifestyle as the key to relieving the pain of arthritis.

The successful applicant will be a registered medical practitioner and is likely to be a consultant rheumatologist, public health physician or GP with an interest in arthritis and knowledge of relevant research. You will be expected to maintain your clinical practice beyond the charity and also be able to meet occasional evening and weekend commitments.
