Applications are invited for the above post, fixed-term for 12 months, with a special interest in Fertility and Assisted Conception.
Jessop Fertility is situated in a state-of-the-art facility within the Jessop Wing. It offers a full range of assisted conception services including IVF and ICSI and treatment with donor gametes. Success rates are above national average and emphasis is placed on patient safety, satisfaction and avoidance of multiple pregnancy. The Unit has an international reputation for study of GnRH antagonists in IVF practice, Reproductive Surgery and has an active research programme in assisted conception. The unit currently undertakes approximately 700 IVF/ICSI cycles per year.
The postholder will participate in clinical duties in the Assisted Conception Unit and the Fertility Clinic. They will receive additional training in all aspects of fertility and Assisted Conception. The unit is a recognised training centre for the RCOG and BFS training modules in Management of the Infertile Couple, Assisted Conception, Embryo Transfer and Intrauterine Insemination. The postholder will be expected to register for one or more of these training modules. Opportunity to undertake additional training in reproductive surgery will also be available.
The successful candidate must have full GMC registration and have completed Specialist Training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. They will also be required to hold a valid licence to practise in line with the introduction of revalidation on 16 November 2009.
