Opportunities for senior medical staff - Waikato District Health Board
We are currently recruiting two General Physician positions at our Waikato and Thames campuses.
Waikato Hospital is seeking consultants in acute medicine with possible subspecialty interests in rheumatology and gastroenterology to join a large physician workforce.
Waikato Hospital is a 600 bed hospital which services a large local and regional population with secondary and tertiary services based in Hamilton, in the heart of the North Island of New Zealand. The hospital has recently undergone major redevelopment and offers state of the art facilities.
The hospital has an academic division of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Science - University of Auckland, acting as a teaching and training centre for undergraduates and postgraduate medical and allied health science students.
The appointees will be involved in teaching, continuing medical education and quality improvement. There is an emphasis on ongoing development of services to meet the needs of our patients. A commitment to customer focus, service development and teamwork are essential.
We are also seeking applicants for a consultant General Physician position for our Thames hospital. This hospital is a fully modernised 54 bed secondary hospital which serves Thames and its associated rural area. The hospital provides a consultant-led emergency department, general surgery, general medicine, and rehabilitation services. Senior medical staff are supported by 3 SHOs and a rural Registrar. Close relationships are maintained with Waikato Hospital - the regional tertiary hospital, just over an hour’s drive away.
