Clinical Associate Professor in Old Age Psychiatry
£75,249 - £101,451 per annum depending on seniority
Applications are invited for the above post based at the Institute of Mental
Health (IMH) at the University of Nottingham: an outstanding environment
for inter-disciplinary research in mental health. The post holder will work with
Professor Tom Dening and colleagues in the IMH’s Centre for Dementia.
The successful candidate will develop a dynamic research programme in
the field of dementia and/or older people’s mental health. He/she will
contribute to building research capacity in the Dementia Centre through
PhD studentships, external funding and high quality research publications.
We are also seeking an excellent clinician with an enthusiasm for teaching
medical students who, with support from colleagues, will lead the
undergraduate curriculum in older people’s mental health. The post holder
will undertake clinical duties and will hold an honorary Consultant contract
with Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust.
Candidates must be medically qualified and hold a CCT (or equivalent) in old
age psychiatry. They must have a significant track record in research with
peer reviewed publications in the relevant field. Experience in teaching at
undergraduate and/or postgraduate level is also required. We are looking
for an energetic and enthusiastic colleague who will make the most of
the many opportunities for dementia research that present themselves in
Nottingham and the local area.
This is a full-time, permanent post (10PA - 40 hours per week) but applicants
wishing to work part-time or to job share are welcome.
