Part-time Secondment Opportunity

Up to 7 PAs plus an Annual Responsibility

The Transforming Pathology Partnership is a new consortium of six NHS Trusts which are working together to provide a transformed pathology service to the six Trusts and the CCGs in their region. The transformed service is to be delivered via a hub and satellite structure that will significantly change the way that pathology is delivered across the six Trusts to acute and community patients. The consortium will come into effect on 1 April 2014.

The role of the Medical Director is to provide corporate, strategic and clinical leadership and direction to all clinical staff within TPP consistent with the delivery of the highest quality care in the context of the organisation’s quality strategy and business priorities.

Applications are invited from Medical Consultants within all Laboratory based specialties. Whilst this is a medical appointment, appointment will not be by way of a formal AAC. In order to retain a Consultant contract and associated terms and conditions, it is anticipated that the successful candidate will wish to be seconded to this role on a part-time basis. The time commitment associated with this post is expected to change over time and agreement about how this post can be accommodated with existing clinical and other commitments will be discussed as part of the appointment process.
