Deputy Medical Director

Formed on 1st April 2013 Gloucestershire Care Services NHS Trust has 3,600 staff including 800 adult social care staff managed on behalf of Gloucestershire County Council. Our Trust services include seven community hospitals, integrated community teams and over 50 specialist services including out of hours GP and sexual health
As Deputy Medical Director, you will provide strong professional leadership, supporting colleagues and key stakeholders through a visionary motivational and problem-solving approach. You will prepare others for change through effective personal and professional development. You will support the Medical Director in implementing a clinical strategy that is innovative, viable, and sustainable and can be effectively monitored to evidence quality improvement and patient safety. You will help to develop a culture that supports continuous development and improvement, innovation and excellence in the provision of clinical services across the organisation.
We welcome applications from doctors wishing to undertake their first formal management position, as well as those already in similar roles. Whatever your professional background, you will have an excellent clinical reputation and credible leadership experience. You will need to demonstrate an excellent grasp and knowledge of the issues facing care provision both locally and nationally and have experience of establishing and improving clinical relationships. Good working knowledge of professional requirements and clinical governance, and the ability to facilitate professional groups to work together as effective teams, is essential.
