Long Term Locum(s) Wanted
Hamilton, New Zealand

I am leaving my glaucoma/general private practice to work in the Pacific Islands for 2½ years, and I am looking for a locum from July 1st 2014. We operate out of a modern, purpose-built, extremely well-equipped, nine ophthalmologist private eye clinic and day stay surgery facility with excellent subspecialist cover. There is opportunity, but not the requirement to perform glaucoma surgery.

Hamilton is a pleasant inland university town with a lively restaurant scene and an active cultural life, for instance see: Within a 2 hour drive are Auckland, the Coromandel Peninsula, Rotorua, and Taupo. Within 3 hours you can be at the foot of the ski tows.

If you have full UK registration (Certificate of Completion of Training or equivalent), you are eligible for a year’s registration with the Medical Council to act as a locum; acquiring full permanent registration is not a big task for UK trained ophthalmologists.
