Community Alcohol and Drug Services (CADS)

Our Regional Service is the largest Alcohol and Drug Service in New Zealand servicing a population of 1.5 million. Annually 15,500 people will contact the service for a range of AOD services.

CADS provides community based AOD advice/information, assessment, treatment and counseling services, inpatient and community based detoxification programmes, opioid substitution treatment, youth specialist programmes, dual diagnosis services, and community outreach programmes.

We seek Medical Officers to work particularly (but not necessarily exclusively) with CADS Auckland Opioid Treatment Service. Full time or part time hours will be considered.

The positions would incorporate clinical time providing assessment and recovery focused treatment for clients as well as service development, quality improvement and risk management activities. Liaison and establishing strong relations with the primary health care sector and with mental health services across the Auckland region will be essential. Applicants will have a commitment to Clinical Governance and provide leadership and active decision making in partnership with the lead clinician and manager.
