Fellowship Training Position

The opportunity exists to commence a Fellowship in Mohs‘ Micrographic Surgery starting January 2014 with Director Dr Paul Salmon and Assistant Director Dr Neil Mortimer. You must be registrable as a Specialist Dermatologist in New Zealand, have achieved CCST (UK) or be eligible for Fellowship of the New Zealand Dermatological Society or Australian College of Dermatology. The position is a two year post with a 12 month Fellowship, followed by a 12 month Locum. There is a broad range of teaching in addition to Mohs’ Surgery, including other Dermatologic and Cosmetic Surgery procedures, e.g. Botulinum Toxin, Fillers, Liposculpture, Blepharoplasty, Facelifts, Fat Transfer, Hair Transplants, etc. This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking an American College Accredited Fellowship offering advanced level Reconstruction and Cosmetic Surgery.

The Skin Centre is based in a purpose built facility in Tauranga, finished in 2011. This facility offers outstanding premises to practise Dermatology. We have a team of four Dermatologists and two GPSIs. We offer a comprehensive range of Dermatology Services, including Medical Dermatology, Phototherapy, Patch Testing, Skin Cancer Diagnosis and treatment including Photodynamic Therapy, and Mohs’ Surgery and Cosmetic Surgery. We have Hair Removal, Vascular and Full and Fractionated Resurfacing Lasers. The Skin Centre is a regular publisher in peer reviewed literature. The applicant must possess the ability to work both  independently and co-operatively in a team environment.

Tauranga City has a population of 115,000. The Skin Centre services a rural population of 600,000, and provides Outreach Clinics to Rotorua, Whakatane, Matamata, Hastings, Hamilton and New Plymouth. It adjoins the golden beaches of Mount Maunganui and is within easy reach of snowfields.
