Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust
Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust is a well-established and stable acute hospital within a community setting with ambitious plans for investment and quality excellence. Looking to build on the momentum in recent years, the Trust has set out a well-articulated vision to embed a clinically led organisation which will lead and deliver on our vision to be the most highly recommended hospital for family and friends. We are seeking leaders who can inspire a culture of improvement and change which engages and develops our multidisciplinary workforce and creates the right cultural climate to meet the Trust’s ambitions for quality outcomes for patients.
With strong financial performance generating surpluses year on year and a patient advocacy level in the top 20% of the health economy, we have the foundations in place to continue to engage and lead our staff to deliver excellent patient care and create strong employee advocacy. We have set out important quality priorities including a strong cultural imperative to learn from incidents and feedback; embedding a sustainable model for safe care of patients 24/7, ensuring an individual, patient centred approach, and improvements in care arrangements across the economy. We are proud of our ambitions and desire to keep learning and improving.
Requiring exceptional leadership potential, commercial acumen, strong relationship management skills and, critically, a strong clinical understanding and credibility, this role will be pivotal to the strategic plans and future success of the Trust. The Divisional Director is one of four key clinical leadership roles in the Trust and, as a key member of the Trust’s Board and Executive Team, it is a truly influencing role embracing business planning, service delivery, quality and leadership of multidisciplinary teams. Passionate about influencing improvement and change, you will be a leader who can facilitate and support collegiate working with clinical, divisional and functional colleagues to ensure the delivery of high levels of patient safety, clinical effectiveness, and experience for patients and staff.
We will be pleased to discuss an appointment that could enable you to take up the appointment on a sessional basis, or a fixed term basis, together with a career plan to enable you to maintain your clinical professional competence and/ or return to a clinically based role over time. This role is open to all colleagues with a recognised clinical qualification at a postgraduate level.
