CONSULTANT IN OCCUPATIONAL MEDICINE
Full Time Appointment
Candidates are invited to apply for the above post; this is a new, full time position working in our Occupational Health Department within the Trust. The focus of the role will beto take a leading role in the delivery of Occupational Medical Services in accordance with the NHS core Occupational Health requirements including: Prevention, Rehabilitation, Health assessments for work, promotion of Health and Wellbeing and Teaching and Training. The postholder will work closely with the Occupational Health and Safety Manager to develop the Service provided to the Trust, to implement guidance and improve and monitor Services via audit and governance initiatives. The postholder will have excellent communication and ‘people’ skills and will work co-operatively with key stakeholders to deliver an excellent, evidence based Clinical Service.
The post will primarily be based within the Occupational Health and Safety Service at 56-58 Gower Street, London WC1E 6EE however, it may be necessary to visit any of the Trust sites i.e. The Heart Hospital, the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Eastman Dental Hospital, The Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine, The Hospital for Tropical Diseases, the Royal Nose, Throat and Ear Hospital, the Trust headquarters, laboratory sites, pharmacies, transport and other outlying sites.
The successful candidate will be supported by a part time secretary and administration team. He/she will work closely with our multidisciplinary team of Occupational Health, Safety and Manual Handling Practitioners.
All candidates must be eligible for full GMC registration and either already be on the Specialist Register or be within six months of receiving CCST/CCT in Occupational Medicine at the time of interview. You will be a Member/Fellow of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine and have a broad range of experience in Occupational Medicine.
