We are seeking to appoint an Endoscopy Fellow; the post is due to commence as soon as possible for a fixed term contract until 31st May 2014, and will be based in the Royal London Hospital’s new Endoscopy Unit. Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) is essential, and the applicant must be an independent Diagnostic Endoscopist proficient in Colonic Polypectomy, and the Endoscopic Treatment of Gastrointestinal (GI) Bleeds.
 The primary function of this post is the provision of designated Endoscopy lists, but there will also be opportunities to assist the Department and obtain experience in the other Subspecialty areas.
 The Gastroenterology and Hepatology Department at Barts Health NHS Trust provides both Inpatient and Outpatient Care. A main focus point of the Department is the Endoscopy Unit – five purpose-built Treatment Rooms with an integrated X-ray Centre. The Department offers an extensive range of Diagnostic and Therapeutic procedures. The Department has a full range of Clinical Nurse Specialists, Dieticians and Pharmacists.
 The following are some of the Subspecialties that form part of Gastroenterology and Hepatology: Advanced Endoscopy (ERCP, Endoscopic Ultrasound, Video Capsule Endoscopy); Hepatology (Viral Hepatitis, Alcoholic Liver Disease, Clinical Trials); Clinical Nutrition and Intestinal Failure; Inflammatory Bowel Disease (Complex Tertiary IBD, Adolescent IBD and Clinical Trials); Community Gastroenterology; Neuro-gastroenterology including GI Physiology; Clinical and Translational Research (Institute of Cell and Molecular Science); and Undergraduate and Postgraduate Education.
