Applications are invited for:-

Department of Microbiology

Associate Professor / Assistant Professor (Clinical)

Applicants should have (i) a medical qualification (approved for full registration with The Medical Council of Hong Kong); (ii) a specialist qualification in medical microbiology with fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists / Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia / Hong Kong College of Pathologists or equivalent; and (iii) experience in teaching, research, clinical consultation, infection control, and supervision of laboratory diagnostic service. Duties include (a) teaching microbiology courses for undergraduate and postgraduate students; (b) conducting academic research; and (c) providing clinical and diagnostic services. The appointee will work primarily at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Shatin. Appointment will normally be made on contract basis for up to three years initially commencing July 2013, which, subject to mutual agreement, may lead to longer-term appointment or substantiation later.

Salary and Fringe Benefits

Salary will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. The University offers a comprehensive fringe benefit package, including medical care, plus a contract-end gratuity for an appointment of two years or longer, and a monthly fixed-sum cash allowance and a housing subsidy for eligible appointee.
