The Robarts Research Institute at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University, seeks applicants for The Kathleen & Dr. Henry Barnett Chair in Stroke Research. Applications are invited for an appointment at the Associate Professor, or if qualifications and experience warrant, at the rank of Full Professor. The successful candidate will be appointed in the Department of Clinical Neurological Sciences in the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry and will be a core scientist at the Robarts Research Institute. The successful candidate will be cross-appointed to another academic department at Western University.
Applicants must hold an M.D. or equivalent. The successful candidate will also be certified as a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or equivalent, in the specialty of either neurology, neurosurgery, or neuroradiology.
The Kathleen & Dr. Henry Barnett Chair in Stroke Research will be an internationally recognized clinician researcher with a proven track record in the field of cerebrovascular disease. The successful candidate will take a lead role in the clinical cerebrovascular disease service and will either bring an established research program or develop said program with a primary research siting at the Robarts. The position of the Kathleen & Dr. Henry Barnett Chair in Stroke Research is for a five year term, renewable.
