Postgraduate Dean Northern Deanery NHS North East LETB

Salary: £126,160 (plus Clinical Excellence, honoraria and additional programme activity)

Base: NHS NE LETB office, Waterfront 4, Newcastle Riverside, Newcastle upon Tyne NE15 8NY

We are seeking to appoint an exceptional individual as Postgraduate Dean at the Northern Deanery situated within the NHS NE LETB.

The Local Education and Training Board in the North East NHS (LETB) will support Health Education England (HEE) in the delivery of high quality care for patients and public health services by ensuring that the health workforce has the right competences, skills, behaviours and training, and that health care staff are available in the right numbers to meet the needs of the public.

The Postgraduate Dean will assist in leading the transformation of education and training, and develop strong strategic collaboration and working relationships with organisations involved in world class education, research, innovation and quality. Furthermore the postholder will have overall responsibility for effective commissioning of medical and dental education and for quality assurance of that delivery whilst also being the key link to the regulators.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate knowledge of and an ability to work across health and social care so that the provision of education reflects the changing service models. This will include leading the work on developing educational frameworks based on pathways as well as professions and ensuring that this work results in effective commissioning across the professions and the wider health and social care workforce.
