£65,270 - £100,446 per annum Full time: 10 Programmed Activities (PAs) or 37.5 hours per week(Applicants for part time, job share or flexible working also considered) Permanent (Post suitable for both Consultant Medical and Non-Medical AfC Band 8d Appointment)
The Health Protection Agency exists to help protect the health of everyone in the United Kingdom; our ambition is to lead the way by identifying, preparing for and responding to health threats and setting standards for health protection. The Agency was established as a special health authority in 2003. On 1 April 2005, the Agency was established as a non-departmental public body with radiation protection as part of health protection incorporated in its remit. The HPA will become part of Public Health England in April 2013.
This is an opportunity to join the North East and North Central London Health Protection Unit working with an experienced team to deliver effective health protection services.
You will join a team of consultants and specialists in health protection to provide the public health risk assessment and response to a range of communicable diseases and non-infectious environmental hazards across thirteen London boroughs with a very diverse population.
The successful candidate will be appointed to the point of the Consultant salary scale appropriate to their years of seniority or if from a background other than medicine to Agenda for Change Band 8d.
