Applications are invited for a Consultant Physician with a specialist interest in Gastroenterology at St Mary’s Hospital, Isle of Wight NHS Trust. The Isle of Wight NHS Trust is a progressive forward thinking Trust committed to providing quality care for everyone, every time. We are looking for a positive and dynamic colleague to join our team of two Consultants providing comprehensive Gastroenterology and Liver Services.
The postholder will provide outpatient, inpatient and Endoscopic Gastroenterology Services along with General Medicine Services (including a commitment to the 1:11 Medical on-call rota). There are ten ST3, 11 ST1/2 or FY2 and 11 FY1 Doctors working within General Medicine.

The Isle of Wight has world-class sailing facilities and good beaches; most of the Island is semi-rural with miles of unspoilt bridleways through National Trust woods and chalk downland, offering spectacular coastal walks in areas of outstanding natural beauty. House prices compare favourably with those elsewhere in SE England. Schooling, in both public and private sectors, is to a high standard. There are also rapid and frequent ferry/rail links with Portsmouth, Southampton and Lymington. London can be reached in 90 minutes by rail from Southampton or Portsmouth.
Applicants should be on the General Medical Council (GMC) Specialist Register for General Internal Medicine or within six months of obtaining their Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) by the interview date. Subspecialty accreditation would also be welcomed.
This is a full time position but candidates wishing to work part time or job-share are encouraged to apply. If a part time or job-share person is appointed modification of the job content will be discussed with the appointee on a personal basis.
