CONSULTANT OPPORTUNITIES IN SEXUAL HEALTH


We are delighted to be able to offer opportunities for highly motivated, ambitious individuals to join our integrated, multidisciplinary sexual health team of medical staff, nurses, health advisors and administration staff who are dedicated to the provision of excellent quality sexual health care in Newcastle upon Tyne.


Newcastle has a population of about 225,000 people with high levels of social deprivation, sexually transmitted infection carriage and teenage pregnancy. The Integrated Sexual Health Service offers a confidential, specialist and comprehensive community-based service, to complement services provided by Primary Care in Newcastle upon Tyne.  These posts are based at the New Croft Centre in Newcastle city centre.


In addition to the challenges of these roles, the Trust is committed to support teaching, education, research and audit.


Consultant in Sexual Health with a special interest in Genitourinary Medicine – Ref: 317-CON-13-009

You will work 6 sessions per week in Sexual Health.  You must have completed specialty training in Genitourinary Medicine, and hold the Diploma in Genitourinary Medicine, the Diploma in HIV Medicine and the Diploma of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (or equivalent).


Consultant in Sexual & Reproductive Health –

Ref: 317-CON-13-010

You will work 6 sessions per week in Sexual Health and Community Gynaecology. You must have completed specialty training in Sexual and Reproductive Care, and hold Membership of the Faculty of Sexual & Reproductive Healthcare.  You should also have attended a Sexually Transmitted Infection Foundation Course or equivalent, and have passed the Diploma in Genitourinary Medicine or be planning to sit this examination within 12 months of appointment.


Applicants for either post must be fully registered medical practitioners and on, or eligible to join, the Specialist Register within six months of the date of the Appointments Committee.
