The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
CONSULTANT PHYSICIAN IN OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH
We are delighted to offer an opportunity for a highly motivated, ambitious individual to join our multidisciplinary team, and make a significant contribution to the delivery of an excellent clinical service to promote staff wellbeing and prevent ill health associated with work.
The service comprises a range of specialists including physiotherapy, clinical psychology and counselling, and is working towards the SEQOHS accreditation. A service level agreement is in place against which quality and service standards are measured. The Trust also provides an Occupational Health service to a range of external clients, including other NHS Trusts, and continues to develop its expertise in medical practitioner health support.
The successful candidate will have experience of occupational health provision within the NHS, an established track record of contributing to improved organisational productivity to benefit patient care, be committed to raising the profile and reputation of the service, and demonstrable experience of implementing best practice and adding value through high quality service provision. Experience of innovative practice, particularly the increased use of technology, would be a distinct advantage.
Personal attributes will include excellent communication skills, a strategic approach and obvious credibility with clinicians, corporate managers and clients. In addition to the challenges of the role, we can offer a commitment to teaching, education, research and audit.
