Applications are invited from individuals, from any clinical discipline, who are fully registered medical practitioners and who have a keen interest in medical education. You should normally be in specialty training with an NTN but other applicants may be considered. Experience or knowledge of teaching in an NHS setting is essential.
The teaching fellowship scheme is now in its twelfth year and aims to professionalise medical education by providing comprehensive educational experience for doctors in training. You will play a key role in the design, development, delivery and assessment of undergraduate teaching in NHS Grampian as well as experience the early years curriculum delivered by the University. You will divide your time between clinical work (up to three sessions per week), teaching, and educational research or development.
The appointee will be based in the Division of Medical and Dental Education (DMDE) within the School of Medicine and Dentistry.
Funding is available for this post for a period of 2 years. As either an out-of-programme experience or stand-alone experience, this post can equip you in your future career to lead and inspire in medical education.
Salary: will be at the appropriate point on the Clinical Staff Salary Scale for Staff not holding Honorary Consultant contracts £30,992 - £53,663 per annum, with placement according to qualifi cations and experience.
