Cambridgeshire County Council/Cambridgeshire PCT are seeking to recruit a Consultant in Public Health with strong technical skills and an interest in population healthcare. The postholder will lead the Local Authority healthcare Public Health advice service to Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).

The postholder will lead specialist Public Health input to clinical policy development for the CCG, including prioritisation using a population perspective. The postholder will also advise on clinical policy for individual cases as a member of the CCG Exceptional and Individual Funding Requests Panel. The role will require good analytical and critical appraisal skills and experience of health needs assessment, and evaluation of service outcomes. The post is full time/job share and is based in Cambridge at the County Council headquarters, although the postholder will frequently work at CCG premises.

The post will offer opportunities to contribute to medical student teaching at the University of Cambridge and to work with the Institute of Public Health.
