Royal Air Force Honington

Royal Air Force Honington requires a highly motivated and enthusiastic Civilian Medical Practitioner to join our well-established and proactive Medical Centre Team. RAF Honington is a multi-faceted Station, which is the home to the Royal Air Force Regiment, and is situated near Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk. RAF Honington encompasses basic recruit training for the RAF Regiment, with Officer and further training also provided. This, alongside providing primary health care for four Operational Regiment Squadrons, makes RAF Honington a unique Medical Centre.

We currently provide primary and continuing care to a practice population of approximately 2,000 Service people during normal working hours. Out-of-hours cover is provided by the out-of-hours service, Harmoni. We can offer a wide variety caseload, a commitment to continuing professional development, as well as funding for external courses. In addition, you will be offered good peer support from colleagues, and the use of station sports facilities. We are looking for someone with enthusiasm, motivation, and excellent team working skills, with ideally an interest in sports medicine.

You will need to be a General Practitioner fully registered with the UK General Medical Council and possess a certificate of prescribed/equivalent experience and a valid UK driving licence. Evidence of Hepatitis B immunity status is required. Full membership of a UK Medical Defence Organisation is highly desirable.
