Roche

Safety Operations Physician

Utilise your medical expertise to support Roche’s first class portfolio

Who we are

At Roche, 80,000 people across 150 countries are pushing back the frontiers of healthcare. Working together, we’ve become one of the world’s leading research-focused healthcare groups. Our success is built on innovation, curiosity and diversity.

The position

Are you ready to take your medical review experience to the next level? If so, Roche has a great opportunity for you in global safety operations.

We are recruiting several Safety Operations Physicians into an expanding team within Safety Risk Management (PDS), based in Welwyn. Working across a large team of physicians and scientists, you will be responsible for the medical review and overall cohesiveness of individual case safety reports (ICSR).

Representing Safety Operations on Roche’s Drug Safety Product Teams, you will communicate with safety science leaders and clinical science groups to ensure that safety teams are aligned in terms of the quality of adverse event data.

You will work closely with global PDS colleagues to drive quality in single case reports, as well as supporting therapy area and product training of Safety operations colleagues, and other medical aspects of pharmacovigilance. You will also identify where changes are necessary to improve compliance, quality and
efficiency, and support implementation of best practice across the Global ops physician group.

Who are you

You’re someone who wants to influence your own development. You’re looking for a company where you have the opportunity to pursue your interests across functions and geographies. Where a job title is not considered the final definition of who you are, but the starting point. To be considered for this role, you will have good medical experience in post-registration clinical practice, and ideally some clinical trials experience. This opportunity is suitable both for experienced pharmaceutical physicians looking to expand their pharmacovigilance knowledge and also for physicians looking to start a career in the pharmaceutical industry.

The successful candidate will have the ability to write concise and unambiguous medical text. You will also be able to demonstrate analytical, problem-solving, negotiating and influencing skills. A confident decision-maker, you will be able to take ownership of assigned cases and projects, prioritise and plan effectively, demonstrate organisation and leadership, and work well under pressure.

A fluent English speaker, you will have proven communication skills, as well as the ability to present and critically discuss clinical data in internal and external forums.

A self-motivated team player, you will need to work effectively across cultures in virtual and multi-disciplinary environments. You will be expected to acquire and maintain knowledge in different disease and therapeutic areas.

You will also need to be flexible and be willing to travel if required.

A GMC recognised medical degree is essential.

When completing your application, please ensure you attach an up to date CV and details of your current remuneration package.

Closing date for applications: Friday 8th February.
