Somerset Partnership is an innovative and dynamic NHS Foundation Trust which provides both Mental Health and Community Services. The Mental Health Services use a recovery-based model for people with mental illness and learning disabilities. You will benefit from living and working in a pleasant rural county of Somerset.
As the first Consultant in this service, you will provide the clinical leadership for the Contraception and Sexual Health Service (CASH) and contraception services in the county. You will demonstrate a commitment to implementing integrated sexual health care. CASH currently provides clinics in various locations and settings across Somerset. Currently we are developing an integrated service with the Genitourinary Medicine (GU) services. We work closely with School Nurses supporting and training them to deliver sexual health within the school clinics. We have a strong relationship with health promotion contributing to the development of a website, local sexual health app, young people’s sexual health resources and a local multidisciplinary sexual health training programme. The service uses the Blithe Lilie electronic patient record system which is shared with the GU services. CASH provides a service to about 12,000 service users a year.
