About Us
Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust was established in April 2002 and authorised as a Foundation Trust on 1st December 2007. The Trust provides mental health and substance misuse services for a population of around 1.4 million people. The Trust covers the whole of the county and employs around 3,700 members of staff across more than 100 sites. The 2008 / 2009 Care Quality Commission's Annual Health Check rated Lancashire Care as ‘Excellent' for the use of resources and ‘Good' for the quality of services. These results place the Trust joint top within Lancashire and in line with other mental health Trusts within the North West.

Health & Wellbeing - Through arrangements with NHS Central Lancashire, Trust staff have access to the EPONA Health Club Scheme that gives discounted access to many local gymnasiums.
Childcare - In partnership with the Child and Family Care Team at Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, qualifying Trust employees are entitled to apply for such benefits as subsidised nursery provision, subsidised school holiday clubs, and childcare vouchers.
Policies & Procedures - the Trust has numerous policies and procedures that support staff during their work with the Trust, such as the Maternity Procedure, Flexible Working Policy and Special Leave Policy. All these policies and procedures are assessed for compliance with on-going legislation changes, such as the recent Equality Act, to ensure staff have the best support available.
Staff Side - Upon joining the Trust, staff have the option to become a member of a recognised Trade Union. The unions currently represented under the ‘Staff Side' banner are Unison, Unite the Union, the RCN, and the BMA.
