Consultant in Public Health/Public Health Medicine (Health Intelligence)

Consultant Payscale or Band 9 Based near Swansea Ref: 028-MD001-0113

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Consultant in Public Health/Public Health Medicine to work within the Health Intelligence Division of Public Health Wales.

The Consultant will work as part of the Public Health Wales Observatory and will undertake a broad portfolio of public health and health intelligence work, including leading the Child Measurement Programme for Wales. This post could be full or part time and will be based within commuting distance of Swansea.

You will be managerially accountable to the Director of Health Intelligence and be expected to work closely with existing Health Intelligence consultants and senior staff as well as Directors of Public Health and Welsh Government.

Applicants must be on the GMC/GDC Specialist Register/UK Voluntary Register for Public Health Specialists.

This is an important and exciting time for the developing Public Health Wales Observatory, with increasing opportunities to support and drive the public health agenda in Wales, through the provision of high quality intelligence to inform public health action.

Public Health Wales provides specialist public health advice and services to protect and improve the health and wellbeing of the population of Wales. With 1,200 staff, based in more than 40 locations across Wales, Public Health Wales is an NHS organisation supporting the Welsh Government, Health Boards, NHS trusts, local authorities and other agencies across Wales. It delivers specialist public health programmes to the public and is a key part of the unified public health system in Wales.
