We are seeking to appoint enthusiastic and motivated Consultants in Public Health/ Public Health Medicine to work in two of our Health Boards; Abertawe Bro Morgannwg and Cwm Taf.

Public Health Wales provides specialist public health advice and services to protect and improve the health and wellbeing of the population of Wales. With 1,200 staff, based in more than 40 locations across Wales, Public Health Wales is an NHS organisation supporting the Welsh Government, Health Boards, NHS trusts, local authorities and other agencies across Wales. It delivers specialist public health programmes to the public and is a key part of the unified public health system in Wales.

You will be expected to deliver two main roles:

(a) as a Consultant in Public Health working with either Abertawe Bro Morgannwg or Cwm Taf Local Health Board, ensuring public health influences delivery at a local level;

(b) as an expert public health specialist within a defined portfolio area working on an all Wales basis as an individual and as a member of one or more specialist Public Health Wales teams.

You will be managerially accountable to the Director of Public Health for the respective Local Health Board and, through your honorary contract, to Public Health Wales.

Applicants must be on the GMC/GDC Specialist Register/UK Voluntary Register for Public Health Specialists.
