NHS Norfolk and Waveney
Norfolk County Council
Do you want an exciting and dynamic role in taking forward the vision for Public Health in Norfolk?
We already have some key building blocks in place for delivering our vision – a great Public Health Team which has been based at the Council for almost a year; a Health and Wellbeing Board which is more than just a talking shop; and a County Council committed to put Public Health at the heart of what it does.
We now have the following senior opportunities in our Public Health Team:
Director of Public Health
We are seeking a visionary and motivational leader, with a proven track record of Public Health achievement and Partnership working, to drive improvements in the Health and Wellbeing of the local community, and exploit the new Public Health opportunities. Competitive in terms of remuneration.
The role has a place at the County Council top table, so you will also be a key player in shaping the strategic direction of services in the future. Interviews will take place week commencing 11th February 2013.
Deputy Director of Public Health
You will support the Director of Public Health in delivering a 21st Century local Public Health system, based on localism, democratic accountability and evidence. You should have a proven track record of Public Health achievement and Partnership working, to drive improvements in the Health and Wellbeing of the local community. You should have a breadth of experience to lead the team across all domains of Public Health and the strategic vision to step up to cover the Director role whenever necessary. Agenda for Change Band 9 or CPHM equivalent. Interviews will take place week commencing 25th February 2013.
Consultant in Public Health/Public Health Medicine
We are seeking someone passionate about supporting high quality, evidence based Clinical Commissioning. You will work within and between our five local Clinical Commissioning Groups, majoring on supporting Clinical Pathways development and cost-effective service delivery for local residents, and able to support and challenge our Clinical providers in equal measure. You will also need to be able to turn your hand to broader Public Health issues, in particular Health Protection and Disease Prevention, and you should have excellent communication and negotiation skills to engage effectively with stakeholders. A proactive individual with the right skill set and attitude is just as important as experience to date.
Norfolk is a fantastic county; its superb quality of life makes it a great place to live and work. But it also has some knotty professional challenges that we need you to tackle. There are some wide health inequalities across its diverse communities, and stunning rural landscapes mask some significant deprivation issues. Agenda for Change Band 8d or CPHM equivalent. Interviews will take place week commencing 25th February 2013.
If you have the ambition and expertise to help us transform our services and make a real impact in Norfolk, we would like to hear from you.
Initially employed within NHS, all posts will transfer to Norfolk County Council in April 2013.
