Clinical Research Associate
The appointment will be full time on UCL Grade CL7. The salary range will be £33,798 to £42,106, inclusive of London Allowance.
PREVENTT (Preoperative intravenous iron to treat anaemia in major surgery) is a multicentre RCT. We have previously shown that preoperative anaemia is associated with increased morbidity and mortality following major surgery. The aim is to assess whether i.v. iron increases Hb levels preoperatively, reduces transfusion and improves patient outcome. Funded by the NIHR HTA, PREVENTT is run by the LSHTM CTU.
The post holder will be responsible for integrated working with LSHTM, day-to-day management of PREVENTT and allied research activity. The post will also develop and continue research ideas and collaborations in Patient Blood Management. This post is funded until 31st August 2017, in the first instance.
This post is applicable to a wide spectrum of applicants from Medicine, Anesthesia or Surgery.
The post holder will need to have a degree in Medicine, you will be GMC registered, along with the ability to work co-operatively in a range of academic and clinical environments.
Experience in clinical trials or academic research, a postgraduate qualification or the intention to pursue an MD or PHD is desirable.
