To Support to work within the Division of Service
Development and Screening
The Public Health Directorate is one of three Directorates within the Public Health Agency created through the Review of Public Administration. The other Directorates are Nursing and Allied Health Professions and Operations.
Within the Public Health Directorate there are four divisions; health improvement, research and development, health protection and service development and screening. Each division is led by an Assistant Director.
The successful applicant will play a key role in the PHA response to complex Public Health issues and will have a specific focus in the areas of unscheduled care and safety and quality. The postholder will ensure provision of Public Health advice to the Health and Social Care Board (HSCB) and its Local Commissioning Groups (LCGs) in development of the HSCB and PHA Commissioning arrangements for Health and Social Care. They will also support continuous improvement in the safety and quality of Services. He/she will be required to develop and/or facilitate the development of appropriate Clinical Networks, implementation of Service Frameworks, and other good Practice Standards within defined Functional/Service Areas.
Working in a challenging environment of multiple and challenging demands will require the postholder to have an ability to work effectively across organisations and possess skills in negotiation, diplomacy and the application of intellectual rigor.
The post is available on a full time basis (although individuals offering eight or more Programmed Activities (PAs) will be considered) and is initially for a period of six months.
