Chair in Neuroradiology

The University of Edinburgh is seeking to establish a Chair in Neuroradiology. You will be joining an exciting, highly active, clinical research environment with a major international research profi le in stroke, ageing and neurodegeneration. Candidates must have a strong track record in clinical neuroimaging research. You will lead your own research in collaboration with several vibrant research streams focusing on vascular (particularly cerebral small vessel disease), ageing and other common causes of neurodegeneration (particularly multiple sclerosis). Superb imaging facilities are available, co-located with world-class biomedical neuroscience research facilities and MRC Centres, including two full time research MR scanners, PET scanner, cyclotron, with dedicated
expertise, nested within the SINAPSE multicentre collaborative imaging research environment. You will promote academic clinical neuroimaging at all levels, particularly amongst postgraduate medical trainees. Evidence
of clinical excellence, leadership and strategic planning is essential. For candidates with exceptional clinical and research experience who do not yet meet the requirements for appointment to a Chair, the University may consider appointment but at Senior Lecturer level. Candidates must have full registration with the GMC, be included on the Specialist Register as a Radiologist and will be offered an Honorary Consultant contract with
NHS Lothian.
