Maitland provides quality schooling, both public and private, for your children and a range of employment opportunities for your partner. Within the Hunter New England area there are two universities, the University of Newcastle and the University of New England both of which have Medical Schools. Health professionals across HNE Health are involved in extensive Clinical and Laboratory Research Programmes, many of them in conjunction with the Hunter Medical Research Institute (HMRI) which is Australia’s only regionally based, internationally competitive Health and Medical Research Institute with over 300 researchers across eight campuses.
