We invite applications from suitably qualified and motivated Obstetricians and Gynaecologists to join our team at the Maitland Hospital where you will provide expert regional and rural Obstetrics Services to women in the Upper and Lower Hunter Valley.


In order to facilitate professional growth and development, opportunities for subspecialty exposure at John Hunter Hospital will be supported. These subspecialty areas may include but are not limited to:

  • Laparoscopy
  • Maternal Fetal Medicine
  • Urogynaecology
  • Gynaeoncology (general)
  • Ultrasonography
  • High Risk Obstetrics

Maitland is one of the fastest growing non-metropolitan regions in Australia situated in the lower Hunter Valley with a picturesque riverine landscape and numerous well-preserved historic buildings and is just two hours north of Sydney and 30 minutes from the Wine Country, or travel 40 minutes to Newcastle or Port Stephens where you can enjoy spectacular coastlines and pristine waterways.
