Competitive Salary Package
The University of Exeter has been named University of the Year in The Sunday Times University Guide 2013, has risen to 7th place in The Sunday Times league table and is firmly positioned in the global top 200. As part of an ambitious programme of investment, the University of Exeter is embarking on a major expansion of its Medical School in both clinically- related and basic science research as part of an ambitious growth strategy.
In clinical and health services research, the Medical School ambitions focus on improving patient care, patient stratification, and health and wellbeing of the population. There are highly successful collaborations with health researchers in other Colleges in the University of Exeter, particularly the world leading Mood Disorders Centre, Business School and the exercise scientists. The school has strength in statistics, economics and clinical trial design and works closely with the Peninsula Clinical Trials Unit and NIHR research design services to ensure the delivery of excellent clinical research.
The data rich healthcare environment of the future will provide exciting opportunities for innovation. In order to maximize such opportunities and to provide leadership in different approaches to the design of clinical trials, the Medical School seeks to appoint a Chair of Applied Health Statistics. This position is generously funded by The Gillings Family Foundation.
This vacancy is available to non-clinically qualified and clinically qualified individuals.
An honorary clinical contract is available if required and, depending on the background and interests of the appointee, arrangements for continuing clinical sessions can be made. The nature of any clinical involvement will be negotiated with the appointee and appropriate local health care provider.
