Southland Hospital is the base hospital for a wide geographical area, creating enormous scope for variety in the work of a talented professional like you. There’s no better place to take a leading role in maintaining and enhancing our Ear, Nose and Throat service, while taking the initiative in developing new ones. This is a generalist position with an on-call responsibility and sub-specialty interests can also be developed and supported.
Located in the lower South Island, Southland offers a wide range of recreational activities. It is home to two of New Zealand’s national parks offering opportunities for tramping, internationally acclaimed fishing and a wide range of outdoor pursuits. Four ski fields are within easy driving distance. The city also has superb facilities such as the brand new indoor velodrome and sporting complex, excellent schools and an enterprising, innovative tertiary education provider, where free fees exist.
You must have completed your Specialist Training to make you eligible for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. An attractive remuneration package, relocation assistance and CME allowance which allows travel, at least annually to northern hemisphere meetings is available.
