NHS Commissioning Board

Leeds and London

Clinical Informatics Director

Salary: Competitive

Part time

Formally established in October 2012 as a new independent body with executive powers and exceptional responsibilities, the main goal of the NHS Commissioning Board (NHS CB) is to get the best health outcomes for people in England. We now need a dynamic Clinician to drive through the goals of the organisation.

Key to our approach is making sure the needs of patients are at the heart of everything we do and every decision we make, driven by clinical leaders to help transform health outcomes in their local communities. Using your expertise, you will provide guidance on the best use of informatics to deliver the NHS Commissioning Board strategic objectives; and you’ll ensure the benefits of informatics are communicated to patients and health professionals alike.

You’ll work with the other directorates in the Commissioning Board; including the regions and area teams, with clinical commissioning groups and other agencies in the health and social care system.

Working with professional bodies and stakeholders, you’ll drive the development of an information culture to ensure continuous clinical and business improvement across the NHS as an enabler for safe and effective care.

You will model the use of advanced analytics to support improved productivity in healthcare and drive the open use of data in supporting innovation and research in the health sciences.

Communication is critical in the modern health service so you’ll be as familiar using mobile communications as you are presenting to medical professionals.
