Applications are invited for the post of NIHR Clinical Lecturerships in the above specialties.

The role of the Lecturer will be to carry out teaching and research whilst undergoing combined academic and clinical training, leading towards a career in their respective speciality. Candidates should have a proven commitment to research and teaching. The person appointed will be allocated an Academic National Training Number (NTNa). Clinical training will be provided within a range of placements approved for Specialty Training in preparation for the award of the Certificate of Completed Training (CCT).

We are able to offer the Medical Education post in a number of areas, including Rehabilitation Medicine, Acute Medicine, Emergency Medicine, General Surgery, Genito-Urinary Medicine, Child and Adolescent Psychology, Paediatrics.

Candidates must be fully registered medical practitioners with appropriate relevant professional exam and have a higher degree (MD/PhD). This post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for a maximum period of four years, or until the award of a CCT.

Salary for this post will be within the range £30,992 - £53,663 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. The successful candidates will undertake 50% of WTE academic work within the relevant academic speciality. It is a condition of these posts that satisfactory enhanced disclosure is obtained from the Criminal Records Bureau.

The Postgraduate Dean confirms that this placement/programme has the required educational and Dean’s approval.

All training programmes are equally open to those who may, either from the outset or subsequently, wish to train part-time (flexible training), if eligible, or job share. For further information on flexible training please contact the Yorkshire and Humber Deanery.

In the event of further training posts (including locums) becoming available prior to interview, short-listed candidates may also be considered for these posts. All candidates will need to hold full GMC registration with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
