2GETHER NHS FOUNDATION TRUST
Herefordshire
CONSULTANT PSYCHIATRIST
CHILD AND ADOLESCENT MENTAL HEALTH SERVICE (CAMHS)
Salary: £74,504-£100,446 per annum
Sessions per week: ten, permanent
Reference: 327-12-217
2gether Foundation Trust provides Mental Health and specialist Learning Disability Services across the counties of Gloucestershire and Herefordshire, including social care for adults of working age with Mental Health problems. The Trust was approved by the Secretary of State as a Foundation Trust from July 2007.
Level 2 and 3 CAMHS are provided by a single team based in the City of Hereford. The team has an establishment of 16 Whole Time Equivalent, including Nursing, Children’s Social Work, Psychology, and Family Therapy Specialists. Children’s Learning Disability Care is also provided by the team. The team works together with the two Consultants to provide cover to the population of Herefordshire.
The age range covered by Herefordshire CAMHS is 0-18th birthday, in line with the Children’s National Service Framework. The CAMHS receives 50-60 new referrals per month in total, which is in line with expectation for the population served. The team caseload is around 700, with individual Consultant involvement in about 180 cases at any one time: Consultants are not normally expected to act as care co-ordinators for complex cases under CPA. Current waiting times are less than 18 weeks for a new assessment and will be expected to decrease with the introduction of a full CAPA Service.
We place a great emphasis on continuing professional development and will facilitate development to the standards set by the Royal College of Psychiatrists. An interest in research or development of a special interest would be encouraged.
Flexible working arrangements will be considered. Any request will be set against genuine operational requirements and limitations and it is not obligatory for a manager to accede to the request.
Please note that all candidates who declare themselves on their application form to be disabled and who meet the essential criteria for the post will be shortlisted in accordance with the Trust’s Two Ticks Pledge on disability.
The Trust reserves the right to close this vacancy when sufficient applications have been received. If you do not hear from us within four weeks of the closing date you have probably not been shortlisted.
We are sorry we are unable to let you know the outcome of your application.
For informal enquiries please contact Dr Chris Fear, telephone: 01432 361669.
 Closing date: 24th November 2012. Interview date: January/February 2013.
