The academic partnership of the East of England Deanery and the University of Cambridge invite applications for 19 NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow Posts commencing August 2013 offered through the National Institute for Health Research, in the following specialties:
Anaesthetics (ST3) Histopathology (ST1)
Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics (ST3) Medical Oncology (ST3)
Clinical Radiology (ST1) Neurology (Dementia) (ST3)
Core Medical Training (4 posts) (CT1/2) Nuclear Medicine (ST3)
Core Psychiatry Training (CT1/2) Obstetrics & Gynaecology (ST1/2/3)
General Surgery (CT1) Paediatrics (ST1-4)
Haematology (3 posts) (ST3) Urology (General Surgery) CT1
In addition, locally funded ACF posts are also available in Medical Education, Core Medical Training (Translational Medicine and Therapeutics) and Neonatal Medicine (NICU).
These Fellowships provide 3 years integrated academic and clinical training for junior doctors who wish to pursue a career in clinical academic medicine and have outstanding potential as a researcher and/or educationalist. This academic partnership has an excellent track record in attracting the highest quality trainees into these positions and ensuring they attain their clinical and academic competencies leading towards their CCT and a PhD/post-doctoral programme.
Recruitment to NIHR and local ACF posts begins on the 15th October 2012 and the closing date for applications will be 12th November 2012. Please note that General Practice has a different application window. The majority of shortlisting and interviews will take place between November 2012 and January 2013. Offers will be made from the 14th January 2013.
