Consultant Payscale (Band 9)
Full time, 10 sessions (37.5 hours per week)
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Consultant in Public Health/ Public Health Medicine to work in one of our Local Health Boards, Aneurin Bevan. You will be expected to deliver two main roles:
1. Primary role as a Consultant in Public Health working with Aneurin Bevan Health Board (ABHB), ensuring public health influences and delivers at a local level.
2. Secondary role as an expert Public Health Specialist within a defined portfolio area working on an all Wales basis as an individual and as a member of one or more specialist Public Health Wales teams.
Amongst the main areas to cover as part of ABHB currently include support to Local Authorities and Partnerships (currently Newport for this role), ABHB Divisions (e.g. Primary Care, Mental Health) plus Gwent-wide topic work on issues such as Asylum Seekers, Homelessness, Vulnerable Groups and Substance and Alcohol misuse.
Portfolios are shared amongst Consultants and may change as a result of regular review.
